I have a Blackberry and it's the best phone I have ever owned. Of course it's only my second phone and it followed quite possibly the worst phone in all of human history, the HTC Touch Diamond. And now I have to admit I'm getting a bit bored with my Blackberry.
So this might spruce things up. Jaguar Land Rover, Research in Motion, DENSO and Real VNC have all teamed up to unveil a new system that literally puts your Blackberry on your car's touchscreen. Meaning that you can use your Blackberry in your car without the police breathing down your neck. Check out the video.

Now I understand that the system is far from finished but I don't find it particularly useful as it stands. It doesn't help you with receiving and sending text messages safely. The Blackberry interface is designed for riding in a bus, not driving. And what was wrong with the car accessing my music rather than using the music app on my phone?
Perhaps it's the apps that will make all the difference. Problem is that Blackberry has considerably less apps than Android or Apple. And by considerably less I mean only 10%. It will be interesting to see how this all unfolds as tech companies find their way inside our cars.
