A Tale of Two Mustangs | 2015 Ford Mustang Convertible

Every product category has their own icons. In fashion you have Ray-Ban Wayfarers and Converse Sneakers. In computing, the humble Macintosh and the Goliath IBM. And in cars, the Mini, Beetle and Ford Mustang.

Named after horses that the Spanish brought across the pond, the Mustang is seen as pure muscular Americana. A powerful pony car for long trips across prairie deserts. But the truth is the Mustang is actually a fashion car.

Workplace Sitcom | 2015 Ford Focus 1L EcoBoost Review

Source: Ford Motor Company
White collar office work is so very interesting. It can be brutal, if working for a baldheaded retail CEO. Or it can be boring and bureaucratic. Unless you work in advertising, or in Silcon Valley, the office is deeply uninspiring.

The grey walls, grey fluorescent lights, grey cubicles and grey colleagues demonstrate the depths office life can dive to. The only hope a corporate robot has for any sort of excitement is from an eccentric colleague. You know, the new guy that awkwardly fumbles through his day. Not the most productive of workers, but fun nonetheless.

Paint the Town Beige | 2015 Acura TLX Review

Everybody loves Las Vegas, it seems. Whenever a colleague of mine heads out on their vacation they choose it as their destination, not the French Riviera, not Australia or Asia but rather the city of sin. I have always found this perplexing because by all accounts there is nothing there. It’s in a desert. Its history is measured in decades. And because of casinos, the place is designed to suck dry the wallet of anybody who might just be passing through.

Should you look back? | 2015 Honda Pilot SE Review

Every five or so a car model gets redesigned. It doesn’t matter the make, the model or the type; there’s a new generation that gets launched after a certain period of time. Whether it be a Ferrari, a Ford or a Fiat, like clockwork you can expect something shiny and new.

That transition period can tend to put consumers in an odd position. The last year of a generation may be outdated in technology and design, but it will probably be more reliable. Because they’ve had five years to work the production bugs out. And once the new models arrive at dealer lots, they’re eager to get rid of the old ones. Which means discounts and negotiating power.

The new model though, has all the latest gizmos and engines. It’ll be a bit bigger, a bit more powerful and maybe even a bit safer. But is that enough to disregard the old model?

Antihistamine Please | 2015 Kia Rio5 Review

Allergies this year have been brutal. To all my fellow hayfever sufferers, I feel your itchiness. It still amazes me how around this time of year I can develop a hatred for grass. So after blowing my nose red and gauging my eyes out, I have to reflect my anger on something.

Owning the original Kia Rio was a like having allergies: the wheezing engine, the snotty gear change, the itchy tires scrabbling for grip and the exhausting lack of power steering. When introduced to North America back in 2001 it was billed as the cheapest car one could buy. And at $11,995 it was certainly affordable, but all the price did was help further cheapen Kia’s already cheap image. And that’s a problem.

Chase the Rainbow | 2015 Honda Fit Review

Have you ever chased a rainbow? I have. And I have heard it been said that one can find a pot of gold at the end of one. So on a stormy day after work, I spotted one and went after it. It was frustrating because the bugger just kept moving away from me at the same rate I was approaching, until it disappeared.

Now, I know how rainbows work. They’re the result of sunlight refracting off raindrops. an optical effect, not something one can actually catch. But that didn't stop me, because I was in a bright yellow hatchback with nothing better to do.
